The new Vortec 4300 V6 engine with 200 horsepower at 4600 rpm produces 260 lb. ft of torque at 2800 rpm and the Vortec 5300 V8 engine with 295 horsepower at 5200 rpm produces 325 lb. ft of torque at 4000 rpm. The 2008 Express Passenger Van is a 3- or 4-door, up to 15-passenger full size van, available in 8 trims, ranging from the LS 1500 Regular Wheelbase to the LT 3500 Extended Wheelbase.

Upon introduction, the LS 1500 Regular Wheelbase is equipped with a standard 5.3-liter, V8, 301-horsepower engine. The LT 3500 Extended Wheelbase is equipped with a standard 6.0-liter, V8, 323-horsepower engine. A 4-speed automatic transmission with overdrive is standard on both trims.
